David Cross
Performance/installation DVD packaging.
David Cross is interested in the construction of the body in visual arts practice and cultural studies. His artistic practice has focused on investigating performativity and in particular the relationship between pleasure, the grotesque and the phobic. His work has sought to incorporate and extend contemporary theories of participation linking performance art with sculpture and installation. Recently he has begun to examine the languages of adolescent play structures including bouncy castles as devices to examine issues of trust, exchange and dialogue.
